The projects we fund are based on transparency and impact at the forefront. We have carefully chosen these projects on this basis and will continue to add projects with that in mind.

All of our carbon offsetting projects are certified to the highest standards through the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), UK and EU Emissions Trading Standard (EU + UK ETS), Gold Standard Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER) and Certified Emission Reductions (CER) programmes.

As the four go to and largest most regulated offsetting standards which are globally recognised, we do not work with any project that is not regulated by one of the above. This ensures that the funds to appropriately to the supported offsetting initiatives.

To qualify for these standards, all projects go through a rigorous and public registration and issuance process, third-party audit and are overseen by the CDM Executive Board (appointed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), ratified by the Kyoto Protocol. Having access to these schemes means that we’re able to use the same offsetting mechanisms as large multinationals and governments.

Reporting

The industry is marred with a lack of transparency and with this in mind, transparency lies as a core value of our organisation. We publish all our Carbon Offsetting Credit Certificates that are purchased.

As a Race To Zero participant, whether you’re a; business, individual, athlete or influencer you will receive a comprehensive update on the exact projects your offsetting has gone on to fund.

OFFSET WITH LEADING 3% OF ALL Climate PROJECTS

Contribute to preventing climate change with the most impactful global climate programs.

FORESETRY

Nature based projects consist of rainforest protection and afforestation projects. Forests help regulate local and the global climate by retaining greenhouse gases and removing them from the atmosphere.

Community

Through the distribution of energy-efficient technologies, such as improved cookstoves, across under-developed, rural communities in Africa and Asia and by providing access to clean drinking water, fuel consumption is minimized.

Renewable Energy

Solar, wind, and biomass conversion to biogas technologies reduce emissions by displacing the burning of fossil fuels as a source of energy.

INDIA GUJARAT STATE WIND FARM

The project consists of the installation of 12 Wind Energy Convertors (WECs) of installed capacity of 800 KW each with a total generating capacity of 9.6 MW.

HERNANDO COUNTY LANDFILL GAS CAPTURE

Capturing potent methane gas from landfill in Florida via underground gas wells and converting it into energy.

This landfill methane-capture project in Florida extracts methane and CO2 from the site and destroys them in a flare, eliminating greenhouse gas emission for the site.

KARIBA REDD+ FOREST PROTECTION

Protecting almost 2 million acres of forests and wildlife that form a giant biodiversity corridor near Zimbabwe- Zambia border.

The Kariba REDD+ Project will generate approximately 196,500,000 carbon credits from reduced emissions associated with deforestation over 30 years. The reduction in deforestation “will be achieved through a series of activities that are designed to significantly improve the livelihoods of locals, such as improved agriculture, beekeeping, fuelwood plantations and fire management. In addition, a significant share of the project’s carbon income will be invested in general activities that promote and guarantee project sustainability. The project’s Community and Project Sustainability Fund is structured to benefit whole communities, specifically the poorest members of society. The fund will be used to improve health and education in the project area with its long-term activities.

ECOERA MILLENNIUM BIOCHAR

Transforms agricultural waste into biochar products that can be applied to soil to sequester carbon, improve soil health and improve farming outcomes.

ECOERA is a Swedish biochar innovation company that created the worlds first Biochar-only carbon sinks. The company was founded in 2007 at Chalmers Ventures with Skånefrö AB. They have been awarded the status as a WWF Climate Solver company. ECOERA provides a full platform for biochar production using biochar made from pelletized agro-residue blends with full traceability from the source to the resulting biochar and location. All biochar used for carbon removal is certified according to the European Biochar Certificate (EBC) ECOERA is also in compliance with the Puro.earth Biochar Methodology and each offset credit represents one CORC (CO2 Removal Certificate) and each CORC represents a volume of one ton of CO2 removal. These ECOERA carbon credits will be delivered in 2023.

FOREST OF MARSTON VALE - PROJECT 1749

The Forest of Marston Vale is a Community Forest and a Charity, planting trees and using woodlands to make life better for the people and wildlife in the 61 square mile area of the Marston Vale, between Bedford and Milton Keynes.

The Charity has planted over 2 million trees to transform the landscape and improve the prospects of the Marston Vale, because trees make life better – for people, for wildlife and for the planet. They help to cool and clean our air, lock up carbon, reduce flooding, provide sustainable raw materials, and are our best hope in combatting the climate crisis. The Charity’s ultimate goal is 30% tree cover across the Forest and that means planting another 5 million trees.

The Forest of Marston Vale also support the Woodland Carbon Code scheme, with a number of WCUs and PIUs held as charitable assets.  An example of one of the many projects can be found here.

A video of the charity can also be found here.

WELSH FORESTS - PROJECT 1750

This beautiful woodland creation project in mid-Wales, is the first phase at this location and comprises of both native broadleaves and commercial conifers, specifically: 50% Sitka Spruce, 15% Douglas Fir, 10% Norway Spruce and 25% Native Broadleaf.

These species are planted in groups and are surrounded by both existing woodland and grazed land, and as such the woodland is fully stock-proof to protect it from grazing.

The wider area land is a mixture of woodland and farmland, with an abundance of wildlife within the locality.

This project has been designed to further enhance biodiversity, with a particular focus on conservation.

The scheme is located within Mid Wales in a secluded valley which is surrounded by commercial and native woodlands as part of the wider family run estate.
